Un’opera ironica e provocatoria che fa parte della serie Bubble Girl. La protagonista, vestita con un abito tradizionale ricco di dettagli, si ritrae in un gesto surreale: con ago e filo tenta di far scoppiare la sua stessa bolla di chewing gum.

Il contrasto tra l’abito storico e il gesto contemporaneo crea una tensione visiva e concettuale che riflette sulla fragilità delle nostre certezze, sull'identità e sull'atto di auto-sabotaggio. Il filo rosso, reale e cucito sulla tela, collega il gesto pittorico al mondo tangibile, rompendo la superficie dell’immagine.

An ironic and provocative piece from the Bubble Girl series. The protagonist, wearing a richly detailed traditional dress, is caught in a surreal act: using a needle and thread to try and pop her own bubblegum bubble.

The contrast between the historic garment and the modern gesture creates a visual and conceptual tension that reflects on the fragility of our certainties, personal identity, and the theme of self-sabotage. The red thread, real and sewn onto the canvas, bridges the painted gesture with the tangible world, breaking through the image’s surface.
